(half ice, half beverages)
16 cans (12-oz) and 12 lbs ice
6 wine bottles (750ml) and 10 lbs ice
The KONG 20 QT Cooler is small but mighty!
I have an ice machine at work. I fill it on Friday and Monday. I used it on the weekends to keep perishables cold during multiple stop grocery runs. During the week it keeps my lunches cold. Ice will usually last all week in my black small suv. I know alot of people would like a drain but that leads to drain sweat and slight decrease in ice time. Even though I have access to ice machine I am still trying to find best way to drain off water while keeping my ice from dumping out also. I don’t want my lunch to drown.
The base of the cooler is shaped in such a way that only 6 cans cover the bottom and yet there’s some space still around the cans that almost would let you fit another can except it doesn’t. Maybe this was intentional so you could place ice around it. Not sure. There’s no drain plug for all the water either. Seems to have kept the drinks cool though.
The cooler works as it should but is without a drain plug. It makes long term use in the oilfield a bit of a hassle at gas stations to re ice down cooler.
So far so good…I love the shoulder strap vs a handle…I can just throw it over shoulder no matter what I have in it weight wise and it feels comfortable to carry…even up or down stairs. I love the single latch used to close the cooler…this is my second Kong and they are just bullet proof…Verses the major brands in the marketplace…I highly recommend the Kong…..priced to be competitive built to be a leader!!!
